What Are the Features of the Snap On Power Washer 2000 PSI?
This pressure washer will be slightly more expensive than other electric pressure washers, but it is also powerful enough to compare to some gasoline washers. If you want the benefits of an electric pressure washer, but the strength of a gas pressure washer, then this model by Snap-On is a great option.
This pressure washer is equipped with a 13 amp electric motor which drives the water pump. This keeps the electrical needs of the pressure washer relatively low. It runs off of a standard 120-volt outlet and the power cord that comes attached has a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) plug on the end to protect you from any power surges. The plug has a reset button that will trip if there does happen to be any power issues. All you’ll have to do is hit the reset button if there is a surge and you will be back in business.
The cord is 35 feet long which is quite generous compared to other models. This gives you great reach to get to even the furthest jobs. It can also be stored by winding it around the brackets on the back of the unit. This makes it easy to store and transport so you do not have to worry about carrying the cord separately or becoming tangled in the cord.
When it comes to power, this unit really puts out the water. With 2,000 PSI (pounds per square inch), it is about as strong as you can get for an electric power washer. Most with this kind of pressure will be gasoline powered. This kind of strength will be able to handle really tough jobs like ground in dirt in sidewalks, decks, patios, etc.
It will also put out around 1.4 GPM (gallons per minute). This will help you save overall water use because it is so efficient. You should find that you will be able to clean relatively quickly even difficult jobs.
And both the motor and the pump are not too loud. They should be quiet enough that you can hold a normal conversation while both are running. Other gas-powered pressure washers can be so loud that they drown out any possibility of hearing anything around you and require ear protect. You will not have that problem with this model.
Snap-On has supplied this unit with four different nozzles so that you can customize it for your exact job requirements. The nozzles are color-coded to make it easy to identify which nozzle is which so that you do not accidentally damage something with too strong a spray.
The first is a red, zero degree nozzle which creates a highly focused stream of what that is very powerful. This nozzle is useful for cleaning a small area that needs extreme power to really get out the dirt. You need to be careful with this stream because it can easily damage paint or chip wood. Therefore, you should not use this on cars or to clean your deck or patio.
The second is a green, twenty-five-degree nozzle which makes a spray that is not quite as intense but still highly powerful. This is better for cleaning larger areas which need cleaning. This is still a powerful spray, so you should be careful about where you spray this. It would be good for cleaning off sidewalks, patio furniture, and the like.
The third is a black “chemical” nozzle. This is used in conjunction with the washer’s detergent tank. When you attach this nozzle to the spray gun it will emit a low-pressure spray and also pull automatically from the soap tank so that you can spray soap on your car of house siding for hands-free cleaning. This is a convenient way to quickly and easily clean a wide variety of applications without having to scrub them down.
The last nozzle is a Turbo Nozzle that creates a powerful stream of water in a circular pattern. This will allow you to clean a larger area with the high-pressure stream than with the zero degree nozzle. This nozzle is also quite powerful so you should not use it on sensitive surfaces.
The unit also comes with a 25 foot, high-pressure ¼” hose which can be rolled up on the on-board reel. This makes it easy to move the washer wherever your job is and store the unit without any difficulty. The accessory cart on the back makes it convenient to keep all the accessories in one place so you do not lose them or have to go looking for them when you need a particular nozzle.
The overall unit is around 49 lbs. but it comes with large wheels and a handle so that anyone can roll it into position.
Are There Any Downsides to the SnapOn 2000 PSI Pressure Washer?
The one possible downside to this model is that the fittings which connect the hose to the unit and to the spray gun are not brass. This can lead to leaking connections. This also means that the seals are not completely tight which means reduced water pressure.
Another possible downside is that the unit does not lock into place well with the wheel-locks. You will probably find that the unit will move around even with the wheels locked in place. This can be a little frustrating if you need to keep positioning the unit while you maneuver around obstacles.
